Entrance Hall 1929

Also known as the Southern Transept. Fairy life makes but a passing reference to this space, remarking that it is the twin of the Northern Transept.

Two Jali : " on either hand disposed,
Delhi screens do stand disclosed,
Screens of wondrous work which high
Decks our Indian Gallery:-
How shine ye 'neath our magic light,
Spoils of the glowing East ! How bright
Sparkles your snowy radiancy,
Sculptured marble filigree !

And then a reference to the adjacent Chapel (already in 1869)

"Lo, on our left, a chamber rare ! .... yon hallowed shrine"
