1$000 - mil-réis ; 60$000 - 60 mil-réis

Conto de réis = one million réis = one thousand mil-réis (or milréis)

1 Cruzado was worth 400 réis

De Visme bought the quinta at Bemfica for 8 thousand cruzados or três contos e duzentos mil reis in 1767 (20 May) He later sold it upon retirement to England for 30.000 cruzados " mas seguno elle dizia, o que recebeu era apenas uma bagatella em comparação do dinheiro que nella tinha gasto.

The house on Rua Formoso he and Purry rented from Pombal cost them 4000 cruzados p.a. (Ratton)
